The Application of Drone Technology in the Field of Overhead Power Transmission and Distribution

  • This paper mainly discusses the application of UAV inspection technology in overhead transmission and distribution lines. Based on the analysis of UAV in line inspection, fault detection and location, utility pole erection, data collection and analysis and overhead line maintenance, the advantages of UAV in this field are expounded. The application of UAVs not only improves work efficiency, reduces costs, but also ensures personnel safety, and brings innovation and development for the operation and maintenance of overhead transmission and distribution lines. At the same time, this paper looks forward to the development trend and research direction of future UAS, including intelligence, multi-sensor fusion, endurance improvement, 5G technology application, man-machine collaboration, standardization and standardization. These development trends will further promote the application of UAVs in the field of transmission and distribution overhead lines and provide support for the sustainable development of the power industry.
