Application of Laser Radar in Substation Measurement

  • Aiming at the safety problems of substation operation and maintenance and equipment transportation in power system, this paper discusses the solution of LiDAR application, and introduces point cloud processing technology to optimize the measurement results of LIDAR and improve the measurement efficiency and accuracy. In order to meet the specific requirements of substation environment and measurement, a special optimization strategy of point cloud processing algorithm is developed and implemented, which has been effectively verified in the simulation environment. The optimized LiDAR and point cloud processing software are successfully applied to the actual measurement of substation, and high quality substation model is generated by 3D scanning. This new measurement method allows the safety distance of maintenance operations to be accurately measured, which greatly improves the safety of operations.
