Development of Flood Monitoring and Intelligent Drainage System for Substation Cable Layer

  • The cable layer of the substation is mostly located at the bottom layer, with a relatively low terrain. During rainy seasons, the cable layer is prone to water accumulation. If the water accumulation cannot be discharged in a timely manner, it can lead to a decrease in the insulation of the cable line, cause short circuit faults, and affect the stable operation of the power grid. It is also dangerous for operation and maintenance personnel to enter the cable layer to inspect drainage facilities. For unmanned substations, the team proposes a flood monitoring and intelligent drainage system that can monitor the working status and water level information of the cable layer water pump, and remotely upload fault information in real-time. Based on the water level, the system can intelligently drain water, improve operation and maintenance efficiency, ensure personnel safety, and improve the stability of the power grid.
