Partial Discharge Detection and Analysis in Switchgear Based on Ultra-high Frequency Signals

  • At present, for the partial discharge (PD) detection of switchgear, TEV ultrasonic and infrared method are widely used in working group. Ultra High Frequency (UHF) method only applied when other detection data were abnormal. However, from long-term work, abnormal TEV, ultrasonic and infrared signals can not be found in many switchgear PD, which UHF discharge signals can be deteTAed nearly every time. At the same time, UHF method is important in PD location. Therefore, it is very necessary to use UHF method in daily detection of switchgear. This paper will give a detailed description of PD detection, UHF method in switchgear detection and analysis.
