Research and Application of Ice Removal Method for Distribution Lines

  • The overhead power transmission and distribution lines are easy to form severe icing in freezing rain season. Increase the mechanical load of conductor and tower, and increase the sag of conductor. Increase line capacitance to ground, destroy system compensation, and cause system resonance. Under the action of electric power, the conductor gallops. Cause two-phase or three-phase short circuit tripping. The wire is seriously burnt. Too much ice and snow will accumulate on the porcelain bottle or cross arm, which will cause the insulator flashover accident and form single-phase grounding or tripping. In view of this situation, Zhaotong Power Supply Bureau has carried out a research on the method of removing icing on distribution lines. A robot for removing ice from distribution lines is developed. It is hung on the conductor. When walking along the conductor, the three-step deicing method is used to eliminate ice skates and icing. Realize the automation of distribution line icing removal. The electromechanical integration technology will replace the traditional human labor, reduce the labor intensity, improve the labor efficiency, and improve the ice disaster resistance of power distribution. Relevant technologies have been applied for national patents.
