Research on the Base Sharing Device of 110~220 kV Cable Terminal Arrester

  • Due to the various types of surge arresters operating in the 110~220 kV cable terminal tower area and different surge arresters with different structure of heights and base interface types, it cause difficult to replace some of the surge arresters during maintenance. Through investigations and summaries of many domestic 110~220 kV surge arrester base sizes suppliers, the new adjustable interface size of the surge arrester base is designed for the cable terminal area in general. The mechanical strength the base is calculated and checked with satisfactory result for the requirement of 110~220 kV. The design also meets the safety operation requirements for most of the domestic surge arrester manufacturers. This has solved the problem of different base interface types.
