Abstract:
With the large-scale integration of distributed photovoltaics into low-voltage distribution networks, a "three element contradiction" has been emerged, which includes the full generation and consumption of distributed photovoltaics, the reduction of investment and renovation costs, and the guarantee of safe operation of the distribution network. To solve this problem, a comprehensive governance equipment for low-voltage distribution networks called the "Photovoltaic Companion" has been developed. This article introduces the main functions, connection methods, equipment performance, application effects, and demonstrations of the Photovoltaic Companion. And a solution, which is centered around the "Photovoltaic Companion", is formed. It can be replicated and applied for comprehensive control of low-voltage distribution networks.
