Abstract:
Transmission line icing is one of the most serious natural disasters in China's power system, which easily leads to the destruction of the mechanical and electrical properties of transmission lines and towers, resulting in the severe consequences of large-scale power outages. The anti icing work of transmission lines in Beijing power grid has long had prominent problems of"difficult to predict before icing, difficult to monitor during icing, and difficult to rush to repair after icing".Based on the above reasons, only relying on the traditional icing prediction and monitoring methods can not meet the needs of the safe operation of the power grid. This paper studies the application of three new technologies, namely, transmission line icing monitoring, prediction and ice melting, in the power protection of the Beijing Winter Olympics, in order to meet the actual needs of many work, such as grid ice early warning, real-time icing monitoring, fault location, operation and maintenance and repair, and help the successful holding of the Winter Olympics.
