Abstract: This paper introduces the working principles of four types of solar thermal power stations: trough type, dish type, Fresnel type and tower type. The solar thermal power station has the advantages of continuous power generation, adjustable storage, and complementary advantages with wind power and photovoltaic. It is concluded that solar thermal power generation has some disadvantages such as high cost, some equipment still depends on imports, and industrial development heavily depends on state subsidies.
