Abstract: Energy Internet is an important approach to realize the sustainable development of global energy. The technologies of Energy Internet are helpful for the transformation of traditional fossil energy to smart energy. Analysis of patent data may offer an in-depth insight to state of art and development trend of Energy Internet.In this paper, 187 605 patents related to Energy Internet are obtained from the patent database covering 126 countries or regions in the world. Patent outputs in the field of Energy Internet are introduced during the year of 2011—2020. The hot field are discussed with cluster analysis. Moreover, a comparative analysis of recent developments in China, the U.S. and European countries is provided.
