Abstract:
High strength steel has been widely used in the design of steel poles of transmission lines, but most of poles are concentrated in transmission lines with voltage levels below 220 kV, and very few are used in 500 kV transmission lines. Combined with engineering examples in oversea, this paper introduces the application of two kinds of 500 kV transmission steel poles made of high-strength structural steel. Using the combination of theoretical calculation and full scale test, the stress of transmission steel pole structure is analyzed, the differences between design data and full scale test data are compared and the possible causes of the differences are analyzed. Through theoretical calculation and full scale test, it is proved that the application of high-strength steel in 500 kV transmission steel pole is feasible and can meet the engineering design requirements. Meanwhile, it can provide reference experience for similar projects in the future.
